I am trained in Person-Centred and Existential Therapy, which is a branch of the Humanistic School of Psychology/Psychotherapy. With vigorous continual professional training in other therapeutic models such as Feminist Terapy and CBT, I apply an integrative approach to my work to meet each individual’s therapeutic needs.
I have extensive knowledge and experience working with people and in the NHS – CMHT setting – Voluntary Sector Mental Health Charities. Since the years of my training and most importantly my practise, my therapeutic model is now informed by the intersectional dynamics of pain and struggle, race and gender, which I tune into, so I can better make sense of the layers of entangled aspects of political and social discourse in our society. I have been fortunate to have worked as a counsellor within the hugely diverse communities that have inspired and developed my therapeutic practice. I seek to inquire even further to help better understand emerging complex issues so we can move forward with the unfolding life events for a better future.
My professional qualifications and Experiences are:
Event Organiser and facilitator of Counsellor’s Networking Group – South London.
Trained in Couples Counselling.
Advanced Diploma in Person Centered and Existential Therapy.
MA Training in Mental Health.
Trained in CBT.
Postgraduate Diploma in Supervision.
Run Depression and Anxiety Management Workshops.
Extensive work experience in Mental Health in the NHS.
Set up and run a therapeutic group workshop in the past.
I am deeply committed to relationships that reflect the equality, dignity and personal authority of the person with whom I am working. I authentically work in order to help you to achieve your personal potential, to support and strengthen your sense of emotional well-being and your particular strengths and abilities, so that you can grow and better address whatever difficulty and pain you are experiencing.
